Materials For Warm Forging

Almost any metal can be forged depending on the alloy or grade. Forging at higher temperatures is usually done on grades of material that (A) have the ability to be hardened through other methods, and (B) have a ductility too low to form the desired shape at room temperature without cracking.

Select a type of metal below to see its forging characteristics and typical applications.
